Who Benefits From Accessible Web Pages?

Visitors with visual disabilities or motion impairment may have difficulty using web sites that aren't constructed to accomodate their needs.

Accessibility also benefits those who use cell-phone browsers, PDAs, and other text-only devices.

Steps Taken To Make This Site Accessible

This site has been designed in good faith to meet the standards outlined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 794d), as amended by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (P.L. 105-220), August 7, 1998. For further information, refer to the Section 508 website.

The following steps have been taken in the development of this site:

  • "Alt" information is used on images.
  • Links are displayed in bold face, and underlined on hover.
  • No links open in a new window without notification.
  • Image-based links are accompanied by similarly-linked text.
  • Links are descriptive when used within text.
  • "Skip to Text" links are provided to bypass repetitive navigation and elements.
  • Navigation is consistent throughout the site.
  • Links may be tabbed through in a logical sequence.
  • The site is useable without the external stylesheet.
  • The site has been tested in Internet Explorer 5.5 and above (yes, 7.0!), and Mozilla Firefox 2.0.
